WCR 2024 Highlights Importance Of Empowering People Of Determination In Employment Opportunities

The World Congress on Rehabilitation (WCR) 2024 is a pivotal event for supporting People of Determination. Gabriela Michetti, the former Vice President of Argentina, highlighted its significance in fostering cooperation and unity. She stressed that such gatherings are crucial for success and empowerment.

Determination plays a vital role in everyone's life, not just those with disabilities. Michetti believes it is essential for happiness and personal growth. The WCR 2024, concluding today in Abu Dhabi, focuses on "Work and Employment." It aims to address global challenges faced by People of Determination in the job market while promoting awareness of their rights and capabilities. This theme underscores the importance of inclusion in employment sectors worldwide.

Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (ZHO), the congress is held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). This prestigious event marks a significant milestone as it is the first of its kind in the Middle East.

Organised by ZHO alongside RI Global and the International Social Security Association (ISSA), this congress has drawn over 500 participants from more than 70 countries. The attendees include prominent experts, academics, and researchers specialising in rehabilitation and healthcare fields.

Michetti emphasised that determination should be an integral part of life for everyone. She believes it enables individuals to develop their talents and abilities effectively. Through determination, people can achieve happiness and fulfilment in their personal and professional lives.
