WAM Strengthens Global Media Presence With New Agreements With Ethiopian News Agency And Viory

The Emirates News Agency (WAM) has entered into two cooperation agreements with the Ethiopian News Agency and Viory International Video Agency. These agreements aim to enhance joint media collaboration in news exchange. This initiative aligns with WAM's goal of strengthening its global presence as a trusted multilingual media provider.

During the signing ceremony at the UAE Media Pavilion, part of the third Global Media Congress (GMC 2024), key figures were present. The event, which continues until 28th November, included Dr. Jamal Mohammed Al Kaabi, Director-General of the National Media Office (NMO) and Acting Director-General of WAM.

Dr. Jamal Al Kaabi emphasised that these agreements demonstrate WAM’s commitment to building international media partnerships with leading global organisations. He noted that they offer a sustainable media model based on collaboration to support shared media missions.

The agreements were signed by Jamal Nasser Al Suwaider, Executive Director of the News Content Sector at WAM; Seife Deribe Endale, CEO of the Ethiopian News Agency; and Zulayho Siddikova, CEO of Viory International Video Agency. Several officials and media representatives attended the event.

Seife Deribe Endale, CEO of the Ethiopian News Agency, stated that the agreement highlights a mutual commitment to producing meaningful media content. This content aims to support sustainable development in both countries while communicating global achievements through impactful media.

Zulayho Siddikova, CEO of Viory International Video Agency, praised the third edition of the Global Media Congress for its interactive sessions addressing current media realities and future sector developments. She noted that the Congress’s rich discussions and extensive international participation underscore its significance as a global event.

Exchange of Media Content

Under these agreements, daily news, photos, and videos will be exchanged among the parties for use and distribution on their platforms and those of their partners. This exchange aims to foster stronger media cooperation among signatories by facilitating content sharing to achieve shared objectives within legal frameworks.

The Global Media Congress reflects the UAE’s leadership role in shaping future media landscapes. Its extensive international participation highlights its importance as a platform for discussing current challenges and opportunities in the sector.
