WAM Partners with Al Qasimia University to Elevate Media Training in UAE

The Emirates News Agency (WAM) and Al Qasimia University (AQU) have recently entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at bolstering mutual cooperation in the realm of media training. This collaboration is set to encompass the design, organization, and delivery of training programs that are in line with the UAE's latest media developments. These programs will be available both remotely and in person, facilitating an exchange of knowledge and expertise between the two entities.

The MoU was formalized through a signing ceremony held at the Al Qasimia University campus in Sharjah. The signatories were Professor Dr. Awad Al Khalaf, Chancellor of Al Qasimia University, and Mohamed Jalal Alrayssi, Director-General of WAM. The event was attended by officials from both sides and a contingent of media professionals, highlighting the significance of this partnership.

On this occasion, Dr. Awad Al Khalaf emphasized the MoU's role in reinforcing the university's commitment to enhancing its partnership with WAM. He pointed out that such cooperation in media training is crucial for a prestigious media institution like WAM. Dr. Al Khalaf expressed his belief that this initiative would significantly contribute to the development of joint training programs aimed at supporting the media sector—a key element in highlighting the UAE's sustainable development efforts.

Mohamed Jalal Alrayssi shared his optimism about the MoU, viewing it as a stepping stone towards fruitful cooperation with Al Qasimia University. He underscored WAM's intention to leverage its nearly 48 years of experience and expertise to benefit media students across the country's universities. Alrayssi praised Al Qasimia University for its role in nurturing qualified graduates across various specializations, including the media sector through its College of Communication.
