Abu Dhabi's Department Of Community Development Launches Volunteer In 60 Seconds Initiative To Enhance Engagement
The Department of Community Development (DCD) in Abu Dhabi has introduced the Volunteer in 60 Seconds initiative, partnering with the Volunteers.ae platform. This project aims to streamline volunteer registration, reducing the process from eight minutes to just one minute. The initiative supports the Abu Dhabi Government’s Effortless Customer Experience programme, encouraging community involvement and promoting volunteerism as a way to contribute to society.
Fatema Al Hosani, Licensing Acting Division Manager at DCD, highlighted that this initiative offers a smooth and user-friendly experience for volunteers. "The Volunteer in 60 Seconds initiative reflects our commitment to providing a seamless and user-friendly experience for volunteers while encouraging more individuals to participate in volunteer activities," she stated. This aligns with government efforts to simplify services and attract more volunteers.

The initiative also focuses on documenting volunteer contributions and hours, safeguarding their rights, and enhancing social cohesion. Al Hosani emphasized that volunteering is integral to national identity and strengthens social structures. It supports the growth of the social sector and reinforces Abu Dhabi’s leadership in volunteerism both locally and internationally.
Hussain Al Balushi, Project Manager at Volunteers.ae, expressed pride in collaborating with DCD.
