Visual Arts Commission Unveils Intermix Residency Programme With Cité Internationale Des Arts And POUSH

The Visual Arts Commission has unveiled the International Edition of its Intermix Residency Program. This initiative is in collaboration with Cité internationale des arts and POUSH in Paris. The program will benefit 11 participants, offering them a platform to expand their artistic practices.

CEO Dina Amin expressed, "Supporting artist practices is at the core of what we represent, and it’s with great pride that we introduce this new International Edition of Intermix. This chapter allows Saudi artists and curators to grow, connect, and share their work within a broader global community. Our inaugural partnership with the Cité internationale des arts, along with our fourth partnership with POUSH across its Aubervilliers and Portes de Paris sites, opens doors into two of France’s most vibrant creative environments. These partnerships will enrich the global conversation around visual art and help nurture a new generation of Saudi artists, fostering meaningful cultural exchange."

Intermix Residency Announced by Visual Arts Commission

The residency at Cité internationale des arts spans three months. It aims to enhance mobility and international collaborations for Saudi-based artists and curators. Participants will engage in research projects in Paris, receiving curated professional support from the centre. Each resident will also receive tailored guidance from a mentor and administrative assistance aligned with their career paths.

Four visual artists—Daniah Alsaleh, Tara Aldughaither, Shatha Alsaidan, Saeed Gebaaan—and curator Mariyam Bilal are part of this residency. They will benefit from critical feedback and production-related support during their stay.

The collaboration with POUSH marks its fourth edition. It offers a three-month program focused on professional development for five Saudi visual artists and one curator. Participants will attend workshops, training sessions, and meetings with key figures in the art world.

This edition provides access to production spaces at POUSH, allowing residents to develop their projects effectively. The selected participants include Shadin Albulaihed, Asmaa Aljohani, Jana Ghalayini, Ali Hussain Al-Hamoud, Zahiyah Alraddadi, and Aliaa Kurdi.

Empowering Artists Globally

The Visual Arts Commission continues to enhance its artist residency programs as part of broader talent-development initiatives. These efforts aim to empower creative practitioners by supporting their professional growth and facilitating cultural exchanges globally.

Through these residencies, Saudi artists can build connections with international institutions and fellow artists worldwide. This approach not only nurtures individual talents but also strengthens cultural dialogues on a global scale.
