Saudi Vision 2030 Transforms Sports Sector, Increasing Federations To 97, Says Sport Minister
Saudi Vision 2030 has opened doors in many sectors, with sports being a key focus, according to Minister of Sport Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal. He highlighted the transformation within the Kingdom's sports sector, which now boasts around 97 sports federations. This change is part of the broader goals set by Saudi Vision 2030, aiming to enhance infrastructure and facilities.
The minister stressed the importance of converting opportunities into real results through the energy and ambition of young people. With about 70% of Saudis under 40, this demographic is crucial for participating in various sports activities. Their ambition and competitiveness are vital for strengthening Saudi Arabia's presence in regional and international sports arenas.

During his participation at the ninth annual Misk Global Forum "MGF25," held on November 19 and 20 at the Mohammed Bin Salman Foundation "Misk Foundation" in Riyadh, Prince Abdulaziz emphasized that youth should have suitable opportunities to engage in diverse sports experiences. This engagement is essential for achieving a distinguished international presence.
The Kingdom has made significant strides in international championships, including its first qualification for the Winter Olympics. This progress aligns with directives from Saudi leadership to broaden opportunities and participation across all sports fields. Such achievements highlight national capabilities and showcase Saudi Arabia's growing influence on the global stage.
Prince Abdulaziz noted that some sports previously lacked governing bodies or organized practice. However, under Vision 2030, these areas have seen development, contributing to numerous accomplishments. The minister's remarks underscore the ongoing efforts to build a robust sports sector that aligns with national goals.
The transformation within Saudi Arabia's sports sector reflects a broader commitment to fostering talent and providing platforms for youth engagement. By focusing on developing infrastructure and creating opportunities, the Kingdom aims to consolidate its position as a leader in international sports.
