Vision 2030 Drives Saudi Arabia Towards A Future Of Innovation And Prosperity

Dr. Munir El-Desouki, President of King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), has congratulated King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on the release of the Vision 2030 annual report for 2024. This report highlights significant national achievements across various sectors, showcasing the Kingdom's progress under this ambitious vision.

El-Desouki expressed pride in the remarkable advancements made under the leadership of HRH the Crown Prince. He noted that these developments are steering Saudi Arabia towards a prosperous and sustainable future. The research, development, and innovation ecosystem has received unprecedented support, leading to increased investments in impactful research projects.

The Kingdom's focus on innovation is evident through its strategic partnerships with academic institutions and various sectors, including government, private, and non-profit organisations. These collaborations aim to transform Saudi Arabia into a knowledge-based economy driven by innovation. KACST plays a crucial role in this transformation as a national laboratory and innovation park.

KACST has successfully completed 20 initiatives across different fields. These initiatives include developing national capabilities, transferring and localising technology, and supporting innovation in water, energy, oil and gas, logistics services, health, and information technology sectors. Such efforts are crucial for enhancing the Kingdom's global competitiveness.

To further stimulate innovative products and enhance manufacturing capabilities, KACST has established innovation centres within the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP). These centres are designed to boost the Kingdom's industrial development by fostering creativity and supporting new product development.

El-Desouki highlighted that KACST remains committed to fulfilling Vision 2030's goals. The organisation continues to strengthen Saudi Arabia's position on the global stage by enhancing its competitive edge through continuous support for research and development initiatives.
