Villa Hegra, the first collaborative cultural foundation between Saudi Arabia and France, has commenced its activities in AlUla Governorate. The launch event was marked by a significant cultural evening attended by notable figures such as French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot, French Minister of Culture Rachida Dati, and Royal Commission for AlUla CEO Abeer AlAkel.
The foundation aims to serve as an international hub for dialogue and creativity. According to Villa Hegra CEO Fériel Fodil, the initiative is a crucial step in enhancing cultural ties between Saudi Arabia and France. She stated that Villa Hegra will host artists from diverse fields to foster experience exchange and collaborative projects.

Fodil highlighted that the foundation's inclusion in the ¡Viva Villa! network underscores its growing role in regional and global cultural exchanges. This network affiliation signifies confidence in Villa Hegra's potential as a major cultural hub. The foundation plans to invigorate AlUla's artistic scene through various programs.
Villa Hegra is a product of Saudi-French cultural cooperation, supported by the Royal Commission for AlUla and the French Agency for AlUla Development. It is envisioned as a pioneering center hosting exhibitions, events, and dialogues, thereby enhancing AlUla's international cultural presence.
The new headquarters boasts modern facilities like an indoor cinema, artist studios, and extensive exhibition halls. These amenities create an integrated environment conducive to creativity across different art forms. This setup aligns with Saudi Vision 2030’s objectives in culture and arts.
The inauguration of Villa Hegra is expected to bolster AlUla's status as a global cultural landmark. By blending authenticity with modern innovation, it aims to establish the region as a premier destination for arts worldwide.
