Victory Team Clinches UIM XCAT World Championship Title At Dubai Grand Prix Race
Victory Team clinched the UIM XCAT Powerboat World Championship title after triumphing in the main race of the Dubai Grand Prix. Salem Al Adidi and Issa Al Ali, piloting "Victory 7," secured this win on Friday, ensuring their status as the 2025 season champions. They will continue to compete in upcoming races, including Sunday's main event.
The competition took place at Al Nessnass Beach near Sunset Mall in Jumeirah, Dubai. Al Adidi and Al Ali began with a steady pace on "Victory 7," gradually overtaking rivals to claim first place in the initial main heat, thereby securing the world title. Victory Team amassed 35 points, bringing their total to 165 points. This gave them a 39-point advantage over the British team, which finished fifth and earned only 18 points, totaling 126 points.

This victory marks Victory Team's seventh XCAT world title, adding to their wins from 2012 through 2017. Overall, it is their 27th world title across various classes and championships, reflecting a legacy of consistent achievement and excellence in marine sports.
The winners were honoured by Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, President of the UAE Marine Sports Federation. The ceremony was attended by Saeed Hareb from the Dubai Sports Council; Mohammed Hareb of the Dubai International Marine Sports Club; Khaled bin Desmal from its board; Ahmed Ibrahim Al Bloushi of Fujairah International Marine Sports Club; and Colonel Ahmed Al Adidi from Dubai Police General Headquarters.
In the first main race, Victory Team completed 16 laps in 42:24 minutes to top the standings. The Fujairah Team's boat No. 96 finished second, trailing by 6.38 seconds, while Sharjah Team's boat No. 9 came third, lagging by 47.78 seconds.
Team members expressed immense joy over this global success. Ahmed Al Smeiti from the Dubai International Marine Sports Club highlighted that reclaiming this title since its absence in 2017 was due to teamwork and collective efforts. The team's determination ensured they clinched victory early rather than waiting for subsequent heats.
Focus and Preparation Key to Success
Salem Al Adidi attributed their win to focus and comfort derived from thorough preparation. Their strategy involved finishing strongly by choosing the right moment to lead during the race, which secured them first place.
Issa Al Ali thanked everyone who supported their journey throughout this season’s World Championship. He noted that this support was crucial for reaching the podium's top step after previously finishing third with Al Adidi—highlighting their improved performance and growing teamwork chemistry.
This achievement underscores Victory Team's dedication to excellence in powerboat racing and sets a high standard for future competitions.
