Vice Minister Eng. Waleed Elkhereiji Highlights Peace And Security At Arab League Council Meeting
Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Eng. Waleed Elkhereiji represented Saudi Arabia at the 163rd session of the Arab League Council in Cairo, Egypt. He attended on behalf of Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah. Elkhereiji highlighted that peace is the strategic choice for the Middle East.
Elkhereiji stressed the need for a fair and comprehensive resolution to the Palestinian issue to ensure regional security. This solution should align with international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative. It includes establishing an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The vice minister reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s unwavering support for Palestinians. He emphasized maintaining and implementing a ceasefire in Gaza. Elkhereiji called for Israel to be held accountable under international law, urging it to stop violations against Palestinians.
Elkhereiji strongly opposed any forced displacement of Palestinians or solutions that do not meet their legitimate aspirations. He reiterated Saudi Arabia's rejection of such measures, advocating for Palestinians' right to determine their future.
Saudi Arabia remains engaged with partners through the International Coalition to Implement the Two-State Solution. This engagement aims to advance peace efforts in the region. The Kingdom continues its commitment to Arab unity and coordination among Arab states.
Elkhereiji emphasized ongoing collaboration at all levels among Arab nations. This cooperation seeks to address common challenges, unify positions, and achieve regional security, stability, and prosperity.
Meeting Attendance
The meeting was also attended by Abdulaziz Al-Matar, Saudi Arabia’s Permanent Representative to the Arab League. His presence underscored Saudi Arabia's active participation in regional discussions and initiatives aimed at fostering peace and stability.
Saudi Arabia remains dedicated to supporting peace initiatives in the Middle East. The Kingdom advocates for solutions that respect international law and fulfill the aspirations of all involved parties.
