Vice Minister Of Industry Engages With India To Strengthen Industrial Partnerships And Cooperation
Eng. Khalil bin Ibrahim bin Salamah, Vice Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Industrial Affairs, recently visited India to enhance industrial cooperation between Saudi Arabia and India. His four-day trip included stops in New Delhi and Tamil Nadu, focusing on expanding strategic partnerships in key sectors like automotive, chemicals, textiles, and advanced manufacturing technologies. This aligns with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
During his visit, Eng. Khalil engaged with Tamil Nadu's minister for industries, investment promotion, and commerce. He also met senior officials from India's Ministry of Heavy Industries, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, and Ministry of Textiles. These discussions aimed to deepen bilateral relations in the industrial sector by exploring mutual opportunities in automotive manufacturing, textiles, and chemical industries.

The vice minister's agenda included meetings with leaders from major Indian companies such as Jindal Saw, Chemdist, Minerva, ACE Group, SSEPL, Keuro Life, and Cipla Pharma. These discussions focused on expanding investment partnerships in advanced industries like automotive components and pharmaceutical manufacturing. The aim was to attract high-value investments into Saudi Arabia's industrial technologies sector.
Eng. Khalil chaired several roundtable discussions with executives from over 20 leading Indian industrial companies. These included a session on auto parts companies held with the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India. Additionally, he engaged with prominent textile industry companies and automotive manufacturing firms to highlight joint investment opportunities in priority sectors.
During his tour of India, Eng. Khalil visited several research and innovation centers. These included the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research under the Ministry of Science and Technology and Ashok Leyland’s R&D Center specializing in innovative automotive solutions. He also toured the Indian Institute of Technology, known globally for its advanced industrial innovation.
The vice minister reviewed the latest industrial research developments at these centers. Discussions focused on exchanging expertise between the two nations as well as transferring knowledge and technology to Saudi Arabia.
These engagements emphasized transferring cutting-edge manufacturing technologies to Saudi Arabia while supporting collaboration in research and innovation. The visit underscored the commitment to fostering stronger ties between Saudi Arabia and India through strategic partnerships in high-value industries.
