Minister of Education Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan highlighted the importance of strengthening the values system in education, which he considers essential for success. He stressed that success is achieved through integrated efforts, with each sector within an institution playing a vital role. Al-Benyan shared these insights during his speech at the 8th Misk Global Forum 2024, held in Mohammed Bin Salman Nonprofit City, known as "Misk City."

The forum, themed "By Youth For Youth," brings together young individuals from Saudi Arabia and across the globe until November 19. Al-Benyan noted that education in Saudi Arabia today goes beyond just acquiring knowledge. The establishment of the National Curriculum Center has led to a curriculum that is both knowledge-based and skill-oriented, with a strong emphasis on values.

Values Essential for Education Success at Misk Forum

Al-Benyan emphasized that education aims to enhance skills from early childhood, specifically ages 3-6. This initiative seeks to develop an innovative and competitive generation by 2030, aligning with the labor market needs across public, private, and nonprofit sectors. The minister pointed out that this approach is crucial for preparing students for future challenges.

He also mentioned that the Ministry of Education is concentrating on improving schools and the educational environment. This includes reducing administrative burdens on school principals and teachers so they can focus more on teaching and student engagement. By doing so, educators can dedicate their efforts to fostering a better learning experience.

Al-Benyan stated that enhancing the curriculum's role and its components is a priority. The ministry is signing international agreements to develop teachers, who are considered the cornerstone of the educational system. Additionally, partnerships with global universities aim to enhance the skills of school principals.

"Education in the Kingdom today does not focus solely on knowledge," Al-Benyan said. "Through the establishment of the National Curriculum Center, the curriculum has evolved to be both knowledge-based and skill-oriented, with a focus on values." These efforts reflect a comprehensive approach to modernizing education in Saudi Arabia.

The minister's remarks underscore a commitment to creating an educational framework that prepares students for future success while maintaining core values. By focusing on integrated efforts across various sectors within institutions, Saudi Arabia aims to build a robust educational system that meets contemporary demands.
