Urgent Appeal For Platelet Donations Issued In Oman To Support Patients
Due to the constant high demand and the long list of patients in need of transfusions, the Department of Blood Banks Services in Oman is making an urgent call to the public for platelet donations. This appeal aims to address the ongoing shortage and ensure that those in need receive timely assistance. Donating platelets can give patients suffering from many illnesses like cancer a new lease of life. Platelets also help patients survive major surgeries or serious injuries.
The Central Blood Bank Baushar in Oman has extended its operating hours to accommodate donors. From Saturday to Thursday, individuals can donate platelets between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm. Additionally, to facilitate donations at the end of the week, the blood bank opens on Friday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm.
By donating platelets today, individuals have a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on someone's life. Platelet donations are crucial for patients undergoing various medical treatments and surgeries, making each donation potentially life-saving. The call to action emphasizes the critical role that each donation plays in supporting the healthcare system's ability to provide for patients with urgent needs. It is a reminder of the power of community support and the difference that collective action can make in the lives of those awaiting transfusions.
