University Of Sharjah Graduation: Postgraduate Cohort 2025 Celebrates 394 Graduates And Academic Excellence
The University of Sharjah marked the graduation of its Fall 2025 postgraduate cohort at University City Hall, attended by H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University. Degrees were conferred on 394 postgraduate students, with the ceremony highlighting both individual achievement and the institution’s growing global academic standing.
During the event, H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi underlined how professional roles and job titles change over time, while ambition retains one core aim: to be useful to others and create lasting benefit. Graduates were encouraged to turn their careers into journeys of giving, innovation and constructive contribution to their communities and sectors.
The University of Sharjah’s recent performance in international rankings was a central focus of the address. The University is placed among the top 350 universities worldwide in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026, holds third place globally for International Outlook and ranks 47th worldwide in Research Quality, indicators that highlight its research influence and diverse academic environment.
The institution’s strength across disciplines also appeared in the Times Higher Education Interdisciplinary Science Rankings, where the University of Sharjah came 26th globally and achieved first place in the UAE during its first participation. In the Shanghai Global Ranking 2025, the University ranked among the top 150 worldwide in Energy Science and Engineering, the top 200 in Dentistry and within the top 300 globally across several medical and engineering specialisations.
H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi reviewed the University of Sharjah’s innovation record, noting the submission of 100 invention disclosures. Out of these, 65 inventions were registered internationally and 29 patents were granted, with multiple outputs progressing into start-up companies. H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi stressed that the University functions as a hub for knowledge creation, technological development and applied innovation.
Addressing families, H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi expressed appreciation for the support that parents provided throughout the students’ postgraduate studies. H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi noted that family encouragement sits at the centre of every success story and forms an essential pillar in enabling graduates to complete demanding academic paths at institutions such as the University of Sharjah.

In a separate speech, Professor Dr. Esameldin Agamy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, congratulated the postgraduate students and their relatives, stating that advanced degrees signal the beginning of greater scientific, professional and ethical responsibility. Professor Dr. Esameldin Agamy highlighted the University’s vision of investing in people and advancing knowledge, a vision inspired by its founder, the UAE's Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Graduate Yousif Al Hammadi spoke on behalf of the Fall 2025 postgraduate class, describing the ceremony as the fulfilment of a long-held goal. Al Hammadi affirmed that graduates view carrying the University of Sharjah’s name as an ongoing responsibility, seeking to convert their knowledge into tangible benefits and active service to society at local, regional and international levels.

The postgraduate students graduation ceremony at the University of Sharjah opened with the UAE national anthem, followed by a recitation from the Holy Quran. Proceedings then moved to the official addresses and presentation of the University’s recent achievements, before culminating in the formal conferral of degrees on the 394 graduates, closing a key academic stage and signalling the start of new professional and research journeys.
