University Of Sharjah Open Day Draws 2,500 Students To Explore Academic Paths
Professor Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the University of Sharjah (UoS), recently launched an Open Day event, specifically tailored for high school students from a variety of public and private schools nationwide. This initiative, taking place over three days, was meticulously planned by the Marketing and Student Recruitment Department (MSR) with the primary goal of acquainting prospective students with the comprehensive range of academic programs available at UoS's colleges.
The event saw participation from an array of university officials including vice-chancellors, college deans, department directors, and administrative staff. It offered a unique platform for students to gain insights into admission criteria, delve into the services offered by various departments and centres, and uncover a plethora of career opportunities that span across all majors.
Dr. Nadia Farhat, the Director of MSR, shared that the Open Day succeeded in drawing close to 2,500 students, both male and female. This turnout underscores the event's significance as a pivotal interaction point for high school students with the university's faculty and staff, enabling them to address their inquiries directly. Dr. Farhat further highlighted that a special day within the event is reserved for parents to accompany their children. This allows families to jointly explore the UoS campus and its advanced scientific facilities, which include modern classrooms, laboratories, and research centres.
The University of Sharjah's Open Day is strategically designed not only to attract exemplary students but also to support them in making well-informed decisions regarding their future academic journeys. The initiative is part of UoS's broader mission to prepare students with the necessary academic and career skills to thrive in the competitive job market.
