UAE And Republic Of Yemen Convene First Meeting Of Joint Consular Committee In Abu Dhabi

The United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Yemen convened their inaugural Joint Consular Committee meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abu Dhabi. Omar Obaid Alhesan Alshamsi, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led the UAE delegation. Awsan Abdullah Ahmed Al-Aud, Undersecretary for Financial and Administrative Affairs from Yemen's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, headed the Yemeni side.

Alshamsi extended a warm welcome to the Yemeni representatives, sharing greetings from H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. He expressed hope for the committee's success in achieving its goals. He highlighted the enduring and respectful relationship between both nations, emphasising their collaborative efforts across various sectors.

Discussions during the meeting focused on enhancing consular coordination and improving services for citizens from both countries. The delegations explored cooperation in education, health, and international judicial collaboration. Several UAE government entities were involved in the discussions, including the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security; the Ministry of Interior; Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA); the Ministry of Education; and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Similarly, numerous government bodies from Yemen also participated in this significant meeting.

This gathering highlighted the commitment of both countries to work together constructively. By focusing on shared interests and mutual respect, they aim to enhance bilateral relations further. Such meetings are pivotal in laying down frameworks for future cooperation across different fields.
