UAE Government Launches Unified UAE Numbers Project To Enhance National Statistical System
The UAE has introduced the "Unified UAE Numbers" project, a significant national initiative aimed at enhancing the country's statistical framework. This project supports ongoing development in economic, demographic, social, and environmental sectors. The announcement was made during an event attended by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister, along with key officials from the nation's statistical centres.
Sheikh Mansour highlighted that this project underscores the UAE government's dedication to adopting advanced technology for data-driven decision-making. The initiative collaborates with the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre, local statistical centres, executive councils nationwide, and private sector partners. "The achievements in statistics and data in the UAE serve as a cornerstone for ongoing development efforts, uniting us as a cohesive national team," stated Sheikh Mansour.
The project targets three main areas: fostering a proactive economy, supporting society, and promoting sustainable environments with renewable energy. It aims to position the UAE as a global leader in data utilisation for effective decision-making. By integrating local governments through respective statistical centres, it seeks to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
Another goal of this initiative is to refine the national statistical release calendar. This ensures accurate production of indicators at a national level. It also aims to boost global competitiveness by providing precise data on the UAE's performance in global rankings such as GDP, inflation, foreign investment, infrastructure, environment, and tourism.
The project envisions a complete transition towards integrated digital surveys. It promotes digital integration efforts and builds accurate records through intelligent data collection and analysis. By leveraging modern technologies and digital platforms, it aims to create a unified data environment that facilitates strategic decision-making for national development.
During his meeting with officials from statistical centres, Sheikh Mansour praised the collaboration between federal and local authorities. This includes the National Statistics Committee led by the Federal Centre for Competitiveness and Statistics. He emphasised that accurate data is crucial for informed government decisions and policies that enhance competitiveness in key sectors.
This initiative also seeks to improve international cooperation by providing detailed data on various aspects of the UAE's performance globally. Through these efforts, it aims to foster international partnerships while ensuring comprehensive statistics are available for informed decision-making.
The "Unified UAE Numbers" project represents a significant step towards strengthening the country's statistical system. By focusing on technological advancements and collaboration across sectors, it aims to support sustainable development across various fields within the nation.
