Unified Parking Permit System Enhances Accessibility For People Of Determination In UAE
The Ministry of Community Development has launched a unified electronic system to approve parking permits for People of Determination in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. This initiative, coordinated with the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (ZHO), involves collaboration with several entities, including Abu Dhabi Police, Dubai Police, and the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai.
This project is part of ongoing efforts to support sustainability and digital transformation in the UAE. The aim is to provide People of Determination with easier access to public facilities, enhancing their quality of life. The electronic linkage allows them to use designated parking spaces without needing paper permits, facilitating smoother movement between the two emirates.

The initiative targets those holding cards that prove their status as People of Determination. It includes individuals with either paper or electronic parking permits from Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Additionally, People of Determination from other emirates with valid permits can also benefit from this service in Abu Dhabi.
The unified database for parking permits enhances integration among concerned entities, contributing to more effective services. This step promotes digital transformation and modern technologies in government services, aiming to deliver innovative solutions that cater to the needs of People of Determination.

Brigadier Engineer Tareq Matar Al Hassani from Abu Dhabi Police emphasised their support for this initiative. He noted it aligns with their strategic priorities aimed at ensuring community happiness through proactive and high-quality services.
Brigadier Jumaa bin Suwaidan from Dubai Police affirmed their commitment to supporting People of Determination. He stressed that the unified electronic linkage reflects integration between government departments in enhancing services for this group.
Technological Advancements
Hussain Al Banna from the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) stated that this step underscores RTA's commitment to elevating services for People of Determination using the latest technologies. He mentioned that free parking services are among RTA's top priorities.
Mohammed Al Zarooni from the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority highlighted that this project strengthens interconnection between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. It aims to provide more effective services by adopting modern technologies.

Mohammed Abdul Hamid Al Askar from TAMM emphasised that integration and cooperation are crucial for pioneering innovations. He noted that the activation of the unified electronic linkage embodies this cooperation based on a shared vision.
