Unified Family Sports Forum Concludes In Ras Al Khaimah With Focus On Inclusion And Community Engagement

The Ministry of Sports, in partnership with the UAE Sports for All Federation, the Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Charitable Educational Foundation, and the Ras Al Khaimah People of Determination Club, recently wrapped up the second 'Unified Family Sports Forum'. This event, themed ‘Healthy Family.. Healthy Community’, took place at the Ras Al Khaimah People of Determination Club's sports hall. The Emirates News Agency (WAM) supported the forum as its media sponsor.

Sumaya Abdullah Salem bin Harib Al Suwaidi, a Federal National Council member and Director General of the Ras Al Khaimah People of Determination Club, emphasised the significance of such initiatives. She noted that these efforts promote inclusion and empowerment. "This forum is a testament to our shared commitment to building an inclusive society. I sincerely thank the Ministry of Sports, the UAE Sports for All Federation, and all those who contributed to creating a vibrant, positive environment for people of determination and their families," she stated.

The forum aligns with the Ministry's broader mission to foster social integration and enhance sports' role in supporting People of Determination and their families. Over 450 participants from 20 public and private schools and specialised centres attended. Volunteers and parents also engaged in various activities during the event.

Saeed Ali Al Ajil, Vice President of the UAE Sports for All Federation, highlighted the collective dedication to community sports. He said, "This forum represents a collective dedication of Ministry of Sport, the UAE Sports for All Federation, and partners to community sports and highlighting the essential role of families in encouraging children, particularly people of determination, to embrace an active lifestyle."

Al Ajil further explained that sport serves as a powerful tool for integration and empowerment. The aim is to ensure equal access to opportunities in a safe environment. He added that these events contribute significantly to enhancing life quality and building a healthy community aligned with leadership directives promoting sports participation.

Naema Al Sharhan from the Federal National Council; Rashid Al Mutawa from the Ministry of Tolerance; Haitham Al Zarouni from Community Sports; were among notable attendees supporting this initiative. Their presence underscored a commitment to fostering inclusive environments through strategic partnerships.

Al Ajil also mentioned ongoing efforts with strategic partners to build inclusive environments supporting growth and excellence for People of Determination. "Together with the Ministry of Sports, we are committed to safeguarding the rights of people of determination to participate in physical and sports activities across schools, clubs, and professional clubs," he noted.

The forum showcased collaborative efforts aimed at shaping national teams representing UAE at sporting events while implementing policies supporting active participation by People of Determination in comprehensive sports development.

This initiative underscores a shared vision among stakeholders towards creating vibrant spaces where everyone can thrive through sports. The focus remains on ensuring every individual has access to opportunities that promote health and well-being within communities across UAE.
