UNA Highlights Future Media And Cultural Initiatives At Islamic Conference Of Ministers
The Union of OIC News Agencies (UNA) shared its upcoming projects during a committee meeting linked to the Islamic Conference of Ministers of Culture, Youth, Information, Human Rights, and Family Affairs. This virtual session gathered representatives from OIC institutions to discuss initiatives UNA aims to pursue in the future.
UNA plans to host an international exhibition in Jeddah focusing on media services and journalism's role in boosting trade among OIC countries. Additionally, a global forum on cultural journalism's future will be organized with the OIC General Secretariat's support and participation from cultural media editors from member states.

An international forum is also planned for OIC member states to explore sports journalism's role in fostering closer ties and understanding between Islamic nations. This initiative aims to enhance cultural appreciation through sports coverage.
UNA announced ongoing projects like the "Media City" program, which spans one year. This initiative seeks to create a leading media hub that combines media, culture, economy, and tourism elements. The goal is to establish a comprehensive platform that supports these sectors.
In collaboration with the OIC and the Ministry of Sports, UNA will host an Esports Seminar on September 4. This event is part of their efforts to engage with emerging media trends and foster dialogue within the esports community.
The committee meeting also reviewed reports from the OIC General Secretariat and the General Directorate for Cultural, Social, and Family Affairs. These reports highlighted achievements by specialized OIC bodies and examined future projects aimed at enhancing cooperation among member states.
The session concluded with practical recommendations designed to strengthen cultural and social ties among member countries. These suggestions aim to promote collaboration and mutual understanding across various sectors within the OIC community.
