UN Report Disproves Sudanese Army Claims Against UAE, Calls For Peace In Sudan

The UAE's Permanent Mission to the United Nations has once again urged the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) to cease hostilities without preconditions. They have called for peace negotiations and the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid across Sudan. This appeal followed the release of a UN Panel of Experts Report on Sudan, which detailed severe violations by both factions against civilians.

The report from the UN Panel of Experts dismissed allegations made by the SAF against the UAE, finding no evidence of UAE involvement in the conflict. The UAE has consistently supported Sudan through humanitarian aid and diplomatic efforts, aiming to bolster security and stability. The report highlighted these efforts, affirming the UAE's credibility and adherence to international law.

UAE Responds to UN Report on Sudan Conflict

The UAE's Permanent Mission emphasised that the UN Security Council’s report exposed numerous atrocities, including indiscriminate airstrikes, attacks on civilians, sexual violence related to conflict, and misuse of humanitarian aid. "It is regrettable that one of the warring parties, the SAF, has repeatedly made baseless accusations against the UAE to distract international attention from their own atrocities, including the use of chemical weapons," stated the mission.

The report also revealed attempts by the Sudanese Army to misrepresent facts and tarnish the UAE's reputation without evidence. These actions were seen as an effort to hide crimes committed against civilians in Sudan. The UN findings provided clear evidence disproving false narratives spread by SAF, confirming that these claims were unfounded.

The UAE reiterated its call for an end to hostilities between SAF and RSF. It urged both parties to engage in dialogue and allow life-saving aid into Sudan. The international community was encouraged to support a credible political process leading to a civilian-led government independent from military influence.

The UN report underscored that there was no basis for SAF’s allegations against the UAE. It found no evidence supporting claims made by SAF regarding UAE’s involvement in Sudan’s conflict. This reinforced that accusations promoted through media campaigns linked with SAF were biased and unfounded.

Efforts must be unified globally to establish lasting peace and stability for Sudanese people through a civilian-led government. The focus remains on ensuring that humanitarian assistance reaches those in need while promoting dialogue among conflicting parties for sustainable peace.
