Umm Al Emarat Park And Tadweer Group Invite Community To Set New Guinness World Record With Recycled Art
Umm Al Emarat Park, in collaboration with Tadweer Group, is inviting the community to participate in a unique event aimed at breaking a Guinness World Record. Scheduled from 8th to 12th December, the event will focus on creating a 25-square metre mosaic wall using recycled plastic bottle caps. This initiative encourages public involvement by allowing participants to attach bottle caps to form a design based on universal recycling symbols.
The project is an extension of the "Cap Your Way to Sustainability" campaign launched in July with Tadweer Group. Schools and partners collected plastic bottle caps to support environmental awareness. The initiative aims to promote sustainability practices and highlight the community's role in environmental protection. It also celebrates the Year of the Family by engaging families, schools, and UAE residents in a meaningful experience.

Rasha Kablawi, spokesperson for Umm Al Emarat Park, expressed pride in launching this week-long event. "We are proud to launch a week full of community events that reflects our nation’s commitment to sustainability," Kablawi stated. The mural project is designed as an educational and interactive experience that encourages participation and teamwork, reinforcing the park's role as a hub for uniting society towards sustainability.
The initiative aligns with Tadweer Group’s goals of promoting environmental awareness and viewing waste as a valuable resource. Abdulwahed Juma, Executive Director of Communications and Awareness at Tadweer Group, remarked on the importance of community connection and education. "Connecting and educating the community is core to Tadweer Group," he said. The partnership with Umm Al Emarat Park aims to divert waste from landfills while creating art through sustainable creativity.
This event is part of a broader series of programmes at Umm Al Emarat Park aimed at establishing it as a leading destination for environmental learning and community engagement. By hosting such initiatives, the park contributes significantly to Abu Dhabi's sustainability goals while providing innovative experiences for visitors.
Event Details and Participation
The event will occur over two daily slots: from 09:00 to 12:00 and from 15:00 to 18:00. During these times, entry will be free for all participants. This accessibility ensures broad community involvement in creating this artistic masterpiece while promoting environmental consciousness among attendees.
Tadweer Group sees this record-setting attempt as just the beginning of their efforts. They plan to continue collaborating with partners to spread their message globally about waste management's potential benefits. The activation not only supports Tadweer’s objectives but also engages youth as future leaders in sustainability efforts.
This initiative underscores both organisations' commitment to fostering sustainable practices within the community. By transforming waste into art, they aim to inspire others towards creative solutions for environmental challenges.
