Umm Al Emarat Park And Tadweer Group Launch 'Cap Your Way To Sustainability' Initiative For Community Engagement

Umm Al Emarat Park, in collaboration with Tadweer Group, has initiated a six-month campaign titled "Cap Your Way to Sustainability." This effort encourages the community to donate used bottle caps, demonstrating how small actions can significantly impact the environment. The park will act as a central collection point, alongside other locations like Totó restaurant on Saadiyat Island and Al Raha Beach C2 Tower.

Earlier this year, Umm Al Emarat Park and Tadweer Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement aims to boost environmental awareness and encourage sustainable practices within Abu Dhabi through joint educational initiatives and improved waste management services. The partnership reflects their commitment to fostering a more eco-friendly community.

The campaign includes three mobile collection boxes managed by Tadweer at schools and community events in Abu Dhabi and the Western Region. Visitors are invited to donate their collected bottle caps throughout the campaign period. These contributions will culminate in a community event later this year, celebrating participants' efforts and showcasing the campaign's impact.

In addition to the bottle cap initiative, Umm Al Emarat Park hosts two of the 25 Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs) installed by Tadweer across Abu Dhabi. These machines allow people to recycle empty plastic bottles and aluminum cans for rewards via the Tadweer Rewards app. This initiative promotes recycling by offering tangible incentives.

The park also regularly conducts workshops in partnership with Tadweer to promote sustainable practices. Recently, it hosted an event called "Naq’a," which engaged visitors of all ages with interactive recycling activities, informative workshops, and creative games. These events aim to educate the public on sustainability in an engaging manner.

The "Cap Your Way to Sustainability" campaign is part of a broader effort to engage the community in environmental conservation. By providing multiple drop-off points for bottle caps, it makes participation accessible and convenient for everyone. The initiative underscores how collective efforts can lead to significant environmental benefits.

This campaign not only highlights the importance of recycling but also fosters a sense of community involvement in sustainability efforts. As participants contribute their bottle caps, they become part of a larger movement towards environmental responsibility. The upcoming community activation event will further celebrate these contributions.
