King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre (KFSHRC) in Riyadh recently hosted Peter Kyle, the United Kingdom Secretary of State for Science, Innovation, and Technology. During his visit, Kyle explored the Heart Centre of Excellence to witness the hospital's advancements in cardiac care. This visit underscores KFSHRC's prominence in specialised healthcare.
Kyle engaged with Dr. Hani Al-Sergani, Executive Director of the Heart Centre of Excellence, and Professor Feras Khaliel, his deputy. The British official examined the hospital’s cardiac facilities and met with the medical team responsible for the world’s first fully robotic heart transplant. He also reviewed cutting-edge technologies in minimally invasive organ transplantation that aim to reduce surgical complications and speed up patient recovery.

The visit comes after international acclaim for KFSHRC's Heart Centre achievements. A Saudi medical team led by Professor Khaliel successfully conducted the world's first fully robotic heart transplant.
