UAEU Showcases Groundbreaking Innovations In AI And Technology At GITEX Global 2025

The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) is presenting its recent developments in artificial intelligence, quantum computing, semiconductors, and data centres at GITEX Global 2025. This event is taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 13th to 17th October. UAEU's involvement highlights its significant role in promoting innovation and digital transformation.

UAEU is also participating in Expand North Star 2025 to back entrepreneurial ventures and startups. The event has attracted over 6,800 technology firms, 2,000 startups, and 1,200 investors from 180 countries, making it the most diverse edition so far. This participation underscores UAEU's dedication to fostering innovation within the UAE's digital economy.

UAEU Advances Technology at GITEX Global 2025

The Department of Information Technology at UAEU introduced the High-Performance Computing Centre (UAEU-HPC), led by Maryam Al Yammahi, Chief Information Officer. This centre provides advanced computing resources for research across various fields. It meets international standards and combines AI and machine learning with robust cybersecurity to boost research efficiency and data security.

Innovative Student Projects

At the UAEU pavilion, student innovations in AI, smart applications, and digital transformation were showcased. Noteworthy projects included an AI-based health app for elderly care that monitors falls and vital signs; RiseRoot, a platform analysing startup success by activity and location; and an Intelligent System for Detecting Distracted Driving Behaviours using AI and sensors for real-time alerts.

Educational Advancements

The university also highlighted its HiFlex Interactive Classrooms initiative. This programme blends in-person and remote learning through advanced audiovisual tools and collaborative technologies. Such initiatives demonstrate UAEU's commitment to enhancing educational experiences through technology.

Sustainable Transportation Solutions

The College of Engineering presented an Autonomous Intelligent Transportation System aimed at improving campus mobility. This system utilises autonomous vehicles and smart stations to cut emissions and boost energy efficiency. These efforts align with global sustainability goals while enhancing campus life.

Through its participation in GITEX Global 2025, UAEU reaffirms its commitment to innovation. The event serves as a hub for academic, industry, and technology leaders to exchange knowledge on advancements in AI, cybersecurity, and sustainable tech.
