UAE's Shielders And Australia's EOS Announce Strategic Partnership For R150 Remote Weapon Station Manufacturing

The UAE's Shielders Advanced Industries and Australia's Electro Optic Systems (EOS) have announced a strategic collaboration to set up a cutting-edge production facility for the R150 Remote Weapon Station (RWS) in the UAE. This initiative, supported by the Tawazun Council through its Tawazun Economic Programme, aims to enhance technological knowledge transfer, localise defence industries, and strengthen national supply chains.

The agreement was formalised on the fourth day of IDEX 2025 at the Tawazun Council Chalet. Key figures present included Hamad Al Marar, CEO of EDGE Group, Matar Ali Al Romaithi from Tawazun Council, Dr Andreas Schwer of EOS, and Khalifa Al Ali from Shielders Advanced Industries. Majed Saif Al Shamsi of Tawazun Economic Programme signed the agreement with AbdulRahman Abdulla Al Ameeri of EOS UAE.

This project is designed to boost local manufacturing capabilities and meet global demand for advanced defence systems. The R150 RWS is renowned for its precise remote-control features that enhance military operational effectiveness. The new facility will utilise advanced production technologies to ensure high-quality and innovative outputs.
