UAE's HM Al Chahine Secures Victory In UAE President's Cup Series At Capannelle Racecourse
The UAE's HM ALCHAHINE triumphed in the fifth leg of the UAE President’s Cup Series for Purebred Arabian Horses. This event took place at Capannelle Racecourse in Rome, Italy, on 18th May 2025. The series is a part of the 32nd edition of this globally recognised competition.
The UAE President’s Cup has become a significant fixture in European racing circuits, enhancing its influence in international Arabian racing. Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the series aims to support breeders and owners worldwide. His leadership has elevated Arabian horse racing's global profile.

HM ALCHAHINE, bred from Al Mourtajez x Al Chyhanah by Munjiz, is owned by Hilal Al Alawi and trained by Élisabeth Bernard from the Jean-François Bernard team. Cristian Demuro rode the colt to victory. He surged ahead at the final turn and finished strongly to secure his eighth win out of nine starts.
The Group 2 turf race covered 2000 metres and featured 16 top Arabians from Italy and Europe. The total prize money was €300,000. HM ALCHAHINE completed the race in 2:09.8 minutes.
Afjan (TM Fred Texas x Mazoon by Amer) finished second for Al Shaqab Racing, trained by Jean de Mieulle and ridden by Olivier D’Andigne. Third place went to Extra Time (Valiant Boy x Sand Witchh by Burning Sand), owned by J. Nevens, trained by David Morisson, with Alexis Lemer as jockey.
Event Attendance
The event was attended by Abdulla Ali Al Saboosi, UAE Ambassador to Italy, and Faisal Al Rahmani, Secretary-General of the Higher Organising Committee of the UAE President’s Cup Series. Mattia Cadrobbi, President of the Italian Arabian Horse Association, along with other diplomatic representatives from friendly nations were also present.
