UAE's First Female Mechanic Huda Al Matroushi Shares Inspiring Journey At Knowledge Summit 2025
During the tenth Knowledge Summit, organised by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation with the United Nations Development Programme, attendees met Huda Al Matroushi. As the UAE’s first female car mechanic, she shared insights on how passion fuels excellence and discussed challenges young people face in their careers.
Al Matroushi emphasised that a genuine passion is essential for achieving excellence. She explained how overcoming obstacles builds resilience and determination. Her journey began in childhood, driven by curiosity to dismantle toys and electronics. This interest evolved into a career in automotive mechanics in 2006.

In 2020, Al Matroushi opened her own workshop, becoming the first Emirati woman to manage a car maintenance garage. She also studied leadership and management to enhance her business acumen. Her story illustrates how personal passion can inspire others and lead to professional success.
She advised that anyone with a dream should persist, as ideas become reality through belief, positivity, and daily planning. Her message encourages individuals to pursue their passions despite challenges they may encounter along the way.
Al Matroushi reflected on a significant moment when President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan called her. He expressed pride in her pioneering role, which she described as an iconic moment that "carried a message of hope to future generations of ambitious women."
