UAE Government Collaborates With World Economic Forum To Launch We The UAE 2031 Strategic Intelligence Platform
The UAE government, in collaboration with the World Economic Forum (WEF), has introduced the "We the UAE 2031 Strategic Intelligence" platform. This initiative aims to support the UAE's national vision for 2031 by leveraging a new AI-powered strategic design model. The launch took place at the 2024 Annual Meeting of the Global Future Councils (AMGFC24), held from 15-17 October.
The platform is designed to gather extensive knowledge from approximately 450 global sources and 2,500 experts. Its main goal is to inform policymakers, strategists, and leaders in the UAE about executing We the UAE 2031. This national plan seeks to establish the UAE as a significant global partner and an influential economic hub.

This digital platform's creation follows an earlier announcement this year and results from a strategic knowledge partnership between the UAE Government and WEF. The agreement was signed during the 2024 WEF Annual Meeting in Davos in January. Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, and Professor Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of WEF, witnessed the signing.
Huda Al Hashimi, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategic Affairs, signed on behalf of the UAE Government. Stephan Mergenthaler, Head of Strategic Intelligence and Member of WEF's Executive Committee, represented WEF. Al Hashimi stated: "The We the UAE for Strategic Intelligence 2031 platform will be a significant asset for the government, empowering decisionmakers to execute national visions."
Olivier Schwab, Managing Director of WEF, highlighted technology's role in government work: "By integrating strategic intelligence into the We the UAE 2031 vision, the UAE showcases how advanced intelligence and future-oriented thinking can enhance government capabilities." He added that this platform will aid continuous development efforts by enhancing global leadership in addressing challenges.
The platform covers over 70 global policy topics crucial to the UAE. It includes reports, academic articles, expert insights from WEF’s partner network, and data sets supporting policymaking. Besides providing information, it serves as a space for government leaders to exchange ideas and initiatives.
Global Future Councils
The Global Future Councils bring together thought leaders from academia, government, international organizations, business, and civil society. They form a leading network for fostering innovation towards a resilient and sustainable future. The AMGFC24 event gathered 500 experts from 80 countries across 30 councils to explore opportunities in technology and AI, environment and climate, governance, economy and finance, and society.
This initiative reflects a commitment to using advanced intelligence tools for effective governance strategies. By pooling vast knowledge resources into one digital space, it supports developing efficient policies that align with national goals.
