UAE Workers Celebrate New Year Across 30 Locations Led By MoHRE

More than 300,000 workers joined 2026 New Year workers celebrations held at over 30 sites across the UAE. The gatherings, led by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE), carried the slogan "With You and Through You, We Step into the New Year", and focused on recognising workers’ efforts in the country’s growth.

MoHRE stated that the 2026 New Year workers celebrations align with a long-term approach to honouring workers on national occasions. The Ministry works with public and private partners to support workers’ quality of life, emotional stability, social ties, and sense of belonging, while underlining how essential workers are to the UAE’s continued development.

UAE Workers Celebrate New Year Nationwide

The 2026 New Year workers celebrations featured competitive games, stage performances, and folk dances at labour sites. Organisers also ran raffles for valuable prizes, including a car and travel tickets. Workers received gifts at the different venues, and many activities were designed to encourage social interaction and provide light entertainment during the holiday period.

Federal and local bodies jointly helped deliver the 2026 New Year workers celebrations across the Emirates. Key organisers included the Ministry of Interior, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security (ICA), Abu Dhabi Police, Dubai Police, Sharjah Police, and several municipal authorities. Abu Dhabi Ports Group and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA Dubai) also played major roles.

Other entities added support to the 2026 New Year workers celebrations through logistics, safety, and coordination. These partners included the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority, the General Directorate of Civil Defence in Dubai, the Permanent Committee for Labour Affairs in Dubai, the Dubai Event Security Committee (ESC), and Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). Labour authorities, ambulance services, and economic zones also joined.

Several private companies held parallel programmes alongside the official 2026 New Year workers celebrations, showing a wider focus on worker welfare. Events were organised by Sobha Constructions, Granada Europe Construction LLC, Millionaire Building Contracting, Advanced Metal Works, Luxury Homes Real Estate, Al Mehwar Engineering Consultancy, DULSCO Group, Innovo Build LLC, and others, highlighting growing corporate attention to workers’ social engagement.
