Empowering Women Entrepreneurs: UAE's New Investment Readiness Programme

The Ministry of Economy, in collaboration with the European Women Association (EWA), has unveiled the 'Investment Readiness Acceleration' programme, a strategic initiative designed to bolster women-led startups in the UAE. This programme aims to furnish these entrepreneurs with the essential skills required to explore new sectors, secure funding, and articulate their vision to potential investors effectively. The launch event took place at the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre, witnessing the presence of Abdullah Ahmed Al Saleh, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy, alongside notable figures from both government and private sectors who play pivotal roles in nurturing the UAE's entrepreneurship ecosystem.

The 'Investment Readiness Acceleration' programme stands as a key element of the Entrepreneurial Nation project, initiated by the Ministry in 2021. This project is in line with the UAE's ongoing efforts to foster gender equality and promote women's participation across various economic domains. Through this initiative, there is a concerted push to motivate women to embark on entrepreneurial ventures that contribute significantly to the nation's economic development.

UAE Boosts Women-Led Startups

During the ceremony, Abdullah Ahmed Al Saleh underscored the UAE's achievements in advancing gender equality and enhancing women's economic empowerment under the guidance of its leadership. He remarked, "The new programme with EWA is another step to further these efforts." This statement reflects a commitment to building on the progress made thus far in creating an inclusive economic environment.

Yulia Stark, President of the EWA European Women's Association, also shared her insights on the importance of empowering women within economic spheres to foster sustainable development. She highlighted that "The programme aims to provide opportunities for women to create projects that contribute to sustainable economic growth in and outside the UAE." Stark’s comments underscore the broader vision of enabling women entrepreneurs not only to succeed within the UAE but also to make an impact on a global scale.

The collaboration between the Ministry of Economy and EWA through this programme is a testament to the UAE's dedication to integrating women fully into its economic fabric. By equipping women entrepreneurs with the necessary tools and knowledge, this initiative not only aims at enhancing their investment readiness but also at ensuring they play a crucial role in driving sustainable economic growth. The focus on sectors where women's participation has traditionally been lower further exemplifies a strategic approach towards diversifying the economy and leveraging untapped potential.

In essence, the 'Investment Readiness Acceleration' programme represents a significant stride towards realizing a more inclusive and diversified economic landscape in the UAE. By fostering an environment where women-led startups can thrive, this initiative not only contributes to gender equality but also propels the nation towards achieving its broader economic objectives.
