NCM Predicts Rain And Strong Winds Across UAE This Weekend
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a weather forecast for the UAE, indicating a significant shift due to an extension of a surface low-pressure system from the southwest. This system is expected to bring humid southeasterly to northeasterly winds. Additionally, an upper air low-pressure system will introduce a humid air mass and a westerly stream, contributing to varying amounts of clouds from the southwest and west.
According to the NCM's report, which covers the weather conditions from Thursday to Sunday, there will be a noticeable increase in cloud cover starting late Thursday night. The clouds, originating from the west and south, will spread across scattered areas of the country by Friday. Accompanying these clouds will be convective clouds that may produce rainfall of varying intensity. Some regions could experience heavy rainfall, complete with lightning, thunder, and even hail. The most intense period of this weather pattern is anticipated to occur on Saturday.

From Sunday evening onwards, cloud amounts and rainfall are expected to decrease gradually. The weather will transition to being partly cloudy to occasionally cloudy. The NCM has also highlighted that winds during this period will range from moderate to strong and may become particularly forceful in areas with cloud activity. These conditions could stir up dust and subsequently reduce horizontal visibility.
The sea state is also forecasted to be affected by these weather conditions. Both the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea are expected to experience moderate to rough seas, especially in areas under the influence of convective clouds.
This comprehensive forecast by the NCM underscores the dynamic nature of weather patterns affecting the UAE. Residents and visitors are advised to stay informed about the latest weather updates and take necessary precautions during this period of fluctuating conditions.
