UAE To Face Scattered Showers And Strong Winds Amid Low-Pressure Alert
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a weather advisory indicating a shift in weather patterns due to a deepening upper-air trough expected to affect the region starting this Sunday. According to the NCM, residents can anticipate an uptick in cloud cover accompanied by light to moderate rainfall across various parts of the country. The forecast also suggests the possibility of heavier showers, complete with lightning and thunder, which could lead to a significant decrease in temperatures.
While the rainy conditions are predicted to subside by Tuesday evening, the NCM has highlighted potential hazards associated with this weather change. Strong winds, transitioning from south-easterly to north-easterly and eventually northwesterly directions, are expected. These winds, ranging from moderate to fresh and possibly reaching strong gusts, may stir up dust and sand storms, drastically reducing visibility on roads. Motorists are therefore advised to exercise increased caution and stay informed about the evolving weather conditions.

Beyond the land, the impact of this weather shift will also be felt at sea. The Arabian Gulf is forecasted to experience light to moderate waves that could turn rough or very rough during periods of heavy cloud cover. Similarly, the Oman Sea is expected to see rough seas, particularly in areas affected by convective clouds. This poses a challenge for maritime activities in these regions.
The NCM's advisory serves as a crucial reminder for both motorists and maritime personnel to remain vigilant and prepared for the changing weather conditions. With safety as a priority, adhering to these warnings can help mitigate potential risks associated with the anticipated weather changes.
