UAE Maintains High Vitality Score Of 72.5 Despite Increasing Mental And Financial Health Challenges

The UAE maintains a strong vitality score of 72.5, according to the latest Cigna International Health Study. Leah Cotterill, CEO of Cigna Healthcare MEA (outside KSA), presented the findings. She noted rising concerns about mental health, social connections, and financial well-being, urging employers to address these issues.

The concept of health has evolved significantly in recent years. It now includes mental, social, and financial aspects, recognising the importance of work-life balance and emotional health. Over 10,000 people from 11 global markets participated in Cigna Healthcare’s annual survey. Their responses were analysed across eight key factors: emotional, environmental, financial, intellectual, occupational, physical, social, and spiritual.

UAE's Vitality Score Remains Strong at 72.5

The UAE's dedication to comprehensive health has led to improved vitality for two consecutive years. The study also explored stress levels and work-life balance challenges. It examined how financial pressures affect employees, providing insights into the region’s health landscape.

Leah Cotterill stated, "At a time when mental and financial pressures are rising globally, the UAE remains committed to prioritising well-being through initiatives like the National Strategy for well-being 2031." This strategy emphasises mental health and community cohesion. It also focuses on long-term financial stability.

Efforts such as national mental health programmes create a supportive environment for individuals and businesses. Cigna Healthcare aligns with this vision by offering innovative solutions that address physical wellness alongside mental and financial health.

The study's findings were revealed at an event hosted with the British Chamber of Commerce Dubai (BCCD). Senior business leaders and healthcare experts gathered to discuss the study's implications. They explored actionable solutions for challenges facing the UAE workforce.
