UAE–Turkmen Business Forum Strengthens Economic Ties And Investment Opportunities
The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) recently hosted the 2nd UAE–Turkmen Business Forum. Organised by the Federation of the UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry, this event aimed to explore new economic cooperation areas and highlight investment opportunities in priority sectors. The forum also sought to strengthen the strategic partnership between the business communities of both nations.
Key discussions at the forum focused on enhancing trade and investment ties in industries such as energy, logistics, agriculture, livestock, and infrastructure. These discussions aimed to advance shared development goals and support sustainable growth in both countries. The event took place at the Sharjah Chamber’s headquarters.

The forum was attended by notable figures including Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Vice Chairman of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of SCCI; Humaid Mohammed bin Salem, Secretary-General of the Federation of UAE Chambers; Mergen Gurdrov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan; and Serdarmammet Garajayev, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the UAE.
Ayesha Mohammed Al Mulla, Chairwoman of the Emirates Business Women Council (EBWC), and Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director-General of SCCI were also present. A large gathering of business leaders, officials, and representatives from Emirati and Turkmen companies participated in the event.
In his opening remarks, Al Owais welcomed the Turkmen delegation. He stated that the forum reflects a joint commitment to advancing economic cooperation under UAE leadership's vision. This vision regards Turkmenistan as a key partner in Central Asia. He affirmed SCCI's readiness to support Turkmen companies wishing to establish a presence in Sharjah.
Mergen Gurdrov noted that bilateral relations are growing steadily due to shared leadership desires to strengthen cooperation. He highlighted Turkmenistan’s growing economic diversity and openness to foreign private sector investment. Meanwhile, Serdarmammet Garajayev praised mutual trust and strong ties supporting direct collaboration between both countries.
Investment Opportunities Explored
The forum featured a presentation by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Trade outlining the UAE’s investment ecosystem. It highlighted competitive advantages positioning it as a leading global destination for business and investment. In turn, Turkmen representatives presented key investment opportunities available to their private sector.
The delegation toured Sharjah Chamber’s permanent exhibition showcasing local industrial products. They explored Sharjah’s industrial output quality and diversity during this tour. The forum concluded with bilateral meetings between Emirati and Turkmen entrepreneurs discussing future collaboration across targeted sectors.
These meetings reflected a shared commitment to building an innovation-driven sustainable economic partnership. Participants explored partnership opportunities that could lead to future collaborations across various sectors.
