UAE Attorney-General Engages With Turkish Counterpart To Enhance Judicial Cooperation And Refute Espionage Claims

The United Arab Emirates' Attorney-General recently engaged in a phone conversation with Türkiye's General Prosecutor. During this call, Türkiye expressed its willingness to boost judicial cooperation and improve communication channels with the UAE. The Turkish General Prosecutor also addressed and dismissed media claims about illegal espionage activities in Istanbul linked to the UAE.

The Turkish Attorney General confirmed that no unlawful actions or suspicious activities were attributed to the UAE or its citizens. After consulting with Turkish authorities, including the Istanbul Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor, it was verified that these allegations were entirely unfounded. Security officials confirmed no unusual behaviour involving UAE nationals.

In response to media reports and social media posts, the Turkish General Prosecutor instructed relevant authorities to remove inaccurate allegations against the UAE. This decision followed a thorough review of the circulated information, which was found to be incorrect. The aim was to prevent misinformation from spreading further.

The UAE Attorney-General praised a statement from Türkiye's Minister of Justice regarding ongoing investigations in Istanbul.
