UAE Team Emirates-XRG Achieves 78 Victories With Juan Ayuso's Stage Win At La Vuelta
Juan Ayuso secured another notable triumph by winning stage 12 of the Vuelta a España. This victory marks his second stage win in this year's race. Riding for UAE Team Emirates XRG, Ayuso executed a perfectly timed sprint against Javier Romo from Movistar. The challenging stage stretched from Laredo to Los Corrales de Buelna, with significant support from teammate Marc Soler.
The route for this stage was demanding, covering 144.9 km with nearly 2,400 meters of elevation gain. It featured two key climbs: the Alto de Alisas and the Collada de Brenes. The Alto de Alisas, measuring 8.6 km at a gradient of 5.8%, set an early fast pace. Later, the Collada de Brenes, at 7 km and a steeper 7.9%, crested about 23 km before the finish line.

Ayuso's victory adds to UAE Team Emirates XRG's impressive record in this year's Vuelta, marking their fifth win. The team also celebrated a stage 4 team time trial victory and four individual stage wins by Ayuso and Jay Vine combined. This showcases the team's formidable strength in the competition.
As the race progresses into its crucial mountain stages, UAE Team Emirates XRG remains focused on securing more stage victories while supporting João Almeida in his pursuit of general classification success. The upcoming stages are expected to be decisive for overall standings.
The next challenge is stage 13, featuring the legendary Alto de l’Angliru with its steep gradients. This stage could significantly impact the general classification standings. With these tough Asturian climbs approaching, Almeida is still in contention for top honours.
Meanwhile, Rui Oliveira delivered an impressive performance during stage 3 of the Tour of Britain by finishing third. He trailed behind Matthew Brennan from Visma-Lease a Bike and Alberto Dainese from Tudor Pro Cycling in a high-speed bunch sprint over a 122.8 km course from Milton Keynes to Ampthill.
Oliveira demonstrated both tactical awareness and sprinting prowess as he prepares for more challenging hilly stages ahead in the Tour of Britain.
