UAE Team Emirates-XRG Achieves Victory In Italy And Catalunya With Jay Vine And Juan Ayuso

Jay Vine secured a solo victory for UAE Team Emirates-XRG on stage 3 of the Coppi e Bartali. The 142km route stretched from Riccione to Cesena. Vine launched an attack alongside Mauri Vansevenant from Soudal-Quick Step just before the final climb at Diolaguardia, with 25km remaining. Their lead was slim, never exceeding 20 seconds.

Vine managed to break away alone over the climb's peak, maintaining a slight edge during the wet descent. As the chasing group closed in, Vine showcased his time-trial skills, delivering a determined performance to claim his first win of the 2025 season. The race continues in Italy with stage 4, a hilly course starting and ending in Brisighella, covering 150.4km.

In Catalunya, a photo finish was needed to separate Primož Roglič of Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe and UAE Team Emirates-XRG’s Juan Ayuso once more. This time, Ayuso finished second, relinquishing the leader’s jersey to Roglič but remaining tied on time for the overall lead as they head into Friday’s stage.

Ayuso added another impressive performance to his recent achievements by finishing stage 4 of the Volta a Catalunya in the young rider’s jersey. Thursday's summit finish at Montserrat Monastery mirrored Wednesday's stage to La Molina, featuring an intense battle between two top climbers.

Despite Roglič's ultimate victory, Ayuso made the most significant attack of the day in the final kilometres. His decisive move came with just 2.6km left after his UAE Team Emirates-XRG teammates had executed their roles perfectly.
