UAE SWAT Challenge 2025 To Commence In Dubai From February 1 With Global Police Teams
Dubai is set to host the sixth UAE SWAT Challenge in 2025, starting on 1st February at Al Ruwayyah Training City. Organised by Dubai Police, this global event will run until 5th February. It will feature elite police teams from around the world competing in five tactical challenges. The competition has gained international attention since it began, offering a platform for rapid response units to showcase their skills and innovation.
The UAE SWAT Challenge Organising Committee has confirmed that 93 specialised teams from various police departments worldwide have registered, with more expected as the event nears. Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, stated that the challenge has become the largest global event for special units and tactical teams. Participation grows annually, with teams from Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Americas joining.

Lt. Gen. Al Marri credited the event's success to H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan's support. This backing has enhanced its global stature and expanded inclusivity to feature both male and female specialised teams locally and internationally. He noted that previous editions showcased exceptional preparation and creativity among teams, reinforcing its reputation as a premier global tactical policing event.
Brigadier Obaid Mubarak Al Ketbi, Acting Deputy Director of Organisations Security and Protective Emergency and Chairman of the Organising Committee, highlighted the challenge's aim to promote competitiveness and exchange expertise. The event evaluates tactical teams' efficiency while fostering collaboration among participants to learn from each other's experiences.
This year's participants will face five specialised challenges testing physical and skill-based abilities: Tactical Operations Challenge, Assault Challenge, Officer Rescue Competition, High Tower Challenge, and Obstacle Course. Brig. Al Ketbi noted these require teamwork, strategic planning, and tactical execution to secure points and podium finishes.
Brig. Al Ketbi attributed the challenge's growth to Lt. Gen. Al Marri's leadership, ensuring high standards in competition quality and preparations. This leadership positions the UAE SWAT Challenge as a globally recognised platform for exchanging expertise among participants while learning from international practices in rapid response units.
Commitment to Excellence
Lt. Gen. Al Marri affirmed Dubai Police's commitment to providing resources for this year's edition to reflect Dubai’s profile as a leading destination for international events. He extended best wishes to all participating teams while emphasising Dubai Police’s focus on fostering innovation in policing and sports.
Brig. Al Ketbi expressed enthusiasm for the interest generated by this edition of the challenge. He looks forward to engaging with participating teams and witnessing their performances in a competitive setting that encourages expertise exchange and skill enhancement.
The UAE SWAT Challenge continues to serve as a benchmark for evaluating team efficiency in addressing tactical challenges while promoting collaboration among global police forces.
