UAE Sustainability Fellowship Celebrates Graduation Of Second Cohort With Key Insights On Future Leaders

The UAE Sustainability Fellowship recently marked the graduation of its second group at a ceremony in Emirates Towers. This initiative, supported by ADNOC and under the patronage of Ohood Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future, aims to empower future sustainability leaders in the UAE. The programme brought together professionals from various sectors to enhance their skills in sustainability.

Throughout the fellowship, participants delved into topics like artificial intelligence (AI), digitisation for sustainability, biodiversity conservation, green finance, and strategic leadership. These areas are crucial for integrating sustainable practices across different industries. The programme's comprehensive approach ensures that graduates are well-equipped to implement these strategies effectively within their organisations.

A significant moment during the graduation was the unveiling of the 2024 CSO Network Survey Results. This report offers insights from Chief Sustainability Officers (CSOs) of 100 companies within the CSO Network. It explores trends in sustainability, focusing on leadership structures, ESG integration, technological adoption, and challenges faced by organisations in achieving their goals.

Ohood Al Roumi addressed the graduates, emphasising the fellowship's role in advancing sustainability in the UAE. "The UAE Sustainability Fellowship exemplifies our nation’s commitment to nurturing the leaders of tomorrow. Through this programme, we are equipping young professionals with the tools, knowledge, and network to drive sustainability as an enabler for the future across every sector of society. Today, we celebrate not just the achievements of our fellows but the promise of a greener tomorrow and a more inclusive future for the UAE and the world."

The fellowship's second cohort prioritised collaboration between public and private sectors. Participants engaged with experts through masterclasses and gained practical insights into embedding sustainability into organisational strategies. This cross-sectoral exchange is vital for sharing ideas and best practices.
