UAE Advocates For Humanitarian Truce And Immediate Ceasefire In Sudan Amid Ongoing Crisis
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has reiterated its unwavering support for regional and global initiatives aimed at establishing an immediate humanitarian truce in Sudan. This move seeks to facilitate the delivery of aid to those affected by the ongoing civil war, which has caused immense suffering among civilians.
The UAE has strongly condemned the severe humanitarian violations and horrific crimes against civilians in Sudan, including in El Fasher. The targeting of civilians, residential areas, and essential facilities is seen as a dangerous escalation and a blatant breach of international humanitarian law and moral principles.

The UAE highlighted that the atrocities occurring in Sudan are crimes against humanity, requiring a unified international response. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) stressed the importance of both conflicting parties fulfilling their duties to protect civilians and ensure the safe delivery of humanitarian aid without hindrance.
Exploiting humanitarian assistance for political or military gains is deemed unacceptable by the UAE. The country emphasised that the Quad joint statement on Sudan marks a significant step towards resolving the crisis. It provides an accurate assessment and outlines a roadmap starting with a humanitarian truce followed by a civilian transition of power.
The UAE remains firm in its call for an immediate ceasefire, advocating for a political solution and comprehensive national dialogue as the only way to end the civil war. This approach aims to preserve Sudan's unity and stability while supporting efforts to alleviate the humanitarian suffering of its people.
The UAE reiterated that there is no military solution to the Sudanese crisis. The regional and international consensus reflected in recent statements offers substantial backing for advancing peace and maintaining Sudan's unity.
