UAE Stands With Lebanon Campaign Successfully Collects 200 Tonnes Of Relief Supplies At Expo City Dubai

The "UAE Stands with Lebanon" campaign recently concluded its donation drive at the Exhibition Centre in Expo City Dubai. This event saw significant contributions from 24 Emirati donor institutions and 4,000 volunteers, amassing 200 tonnes of food supplies, relief materials, and shelter equipment. The initiative was led by Sheikhs, senior officials, and business owners.

Dr. Tariq Al Gurg, CEO and Vice Chairman of Dubai Cares, highlighted the dedication of the UAE's leadership in addressing global humanitarian needs. He mentioned the roles of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in ensuring swift responses to crises worldwide.

UAE Campaign Collects 200 Tonnes for Lebanon

The event was organised by 'Dubai Cares' under the supervision of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council. H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan chairs this council. The campaign received widespread support from various segments of Dubai's community.

Dr. Tariq Al Gurg also emphasised the importance of coordination among UAE entities involved in humanitarian efforts. This collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council ensures timely medical, food, and shelter assistance to those affected by crises.

The relief aid collection activities included participation from several organisations such as Emirates Red Crescent, Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable Foundation, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation for Humanitarian Works, and Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives.

Other contributors were the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai, Sharjah Charity Association, The Big Heart Foundation, Emirates Foundation, Volunteers.ae Platform, Sharjah Volunteer Centre, Fujairah Charity Association, Watani Al Emarat Foundation, International Charity Organisation, Emirates Charity Association, Beit Al Khair Society, Dar Al Ber Society, Dubai Charity Association, and Day for Dubai initiative.

This collective effort aims to provide essential support for early recovery and stability in societies impacted by conflicts or natural disasters. The campaign underscores the UAE's commitment to global humanitarian causes.
