UAE Showcases Space Ambitions And Innovations At Expo 2025 Osaka Pavilion
The Explorers of Space platform is a key feature at the UAE Pavilion during Expo 2025 Osaka-Kansai. It offers visitors an engaging look into the UAE's space exploration journey, showcasing past achievements and future goals. This includes missions like the Emirates Mars Mission and the Rashid Rover lunar mission, highlighting the country's dedication to advancing space science and inspiring future astronauts.
Space42 plays a significant role as the official partner of the Space Explorers zone. The company curates content that showcases its contributions to space innovation and smart technology integration with terrestrial applications. Their sponsorship of the pavilion, themed "From Earth to Ether," aligns with their mission to inspire future generations through tangible space-to-earth value creation.

Sulaiman Al Ali, Chief Commercial Officer at Space42, stated that their support for the pavilion aligns with the UAE’s journey from a rich cultural legacy to a future of innovation and discovery. He mentioned that Space42 aims to redefine how satellite communications, geospatial analytics, and artificial intelligence converge to create solutions with real-world impact across communities and economies.
Al Ali highlighted that Space42 is the first UAE space technology company to fully integrate artificial intelligence into its operations. This positions them as a key enabler of the country's global ambitions in space and technology, making space-based solutions more accessible for everyday life. He also noted that Expo 2025 Osaka serves as a global launchpad for expanding Space42’s international presence and fostering new collaborations.
Currently, Space42 operates in over 150 countries with a portfolio exceeding six satellites. These provide smart connectivity and Earth observation solutions, including disaster response and crisis management. Their flagship projects include next-generation mobility services via the Thuraya-4 satellite, expansion of the Foresight satellite constellation for Earth monitoring, and development of Yah 4 and Yah 5 satellites supporting UAE government contracts.
The company plans to complete its integrated radar satellite constellation by 2027. Additionally, they are developing over 15 new products to meet growing demand across various sectors. The strong UAE-Japan space partnership has already resulted in successful missions and continues to drive innovation.
Cultural Heritage Meets Innovation
A unique handcrafted rocket sculpture made entirely from palm fronds (khoos) is featured on the Explorers of Space platform. Emirati women artisans from the House of Artisans created this piece over two to three months. It stands as a visual testament to how traditional Emirati craftsmanship can transform into futuristic symbols of national aspirations in space exploration.
This installation embodies a creative spirit rooted in heritage while being propelled towards future ambitions. It highlights how cultural traditions can merge with modern innovation, symbolising the UAE's aspirations in reaching new heights in space exploration.
