UAE Continues Humanitarian Support With Three More Planes Carrying 120 Tonnes Of Aid For Lebanon

The UAE has dispatched three additional planes to Lebanon, delivering essential relief supplies such as medical and food items, ambulances, and shelter equipment. This brings the total to 12 aircraft carrying 515 tonnes of aid. This effort is part of the national relief campaign "The UAE stands with Lebanon," which began on 8th October in collaboration with international organisations like WHO, UNHCR, and IFRC.

Under the guidance of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the campaign is closely monitored by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister. H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan oversees the initiative as Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Affairs and Chairman of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council.

UAE Sends Additional Relief Aid to Lebanon

Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development and International Organisations, highlighted that the UAE's ongoing support for Lebanon underscores its commitment to humanitarian causes. He emphasised that this assistance reflects the UAE's dedication to helping communities during crises and swiftly easing their hardships.

Al Shamsi stated, "The UAE has always been a global icon in humanitarian work and in helping societies in the midst of disasters and conflicts restore security and stability." The campaign aims to provide timely aid to Lebanese people and refugees in Syria, demonstrating solidarity during challenging times.

The UAE's relief efforts are conducted in coordination with international bodies such as WHO, UNHCR, and IFRC. These partnerships ensure that aid reaches those most in need efficiently. The campaign was initiated following directives from UAE leadership to support Lebanon during its current challenges.

The recent dispatch included 120 tonnes of aid materials for both Lebanon and Lebanese refugees in Syria. This initiative highlights the UAE's role as a key player in global humanitarian efforts, providing crucial support where it is needed most.
