UAE Minister Of Defence Affairs Stresses Inseparable Link Between Security And Prosperity At IDEX 2025

The International Defence Exhibition (IDEX), since its inception in 1993, has grown into a leading global defence event. Mohamed Mubarak Fadhel Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of State for Defence Affairs, highlighted this in his keynote speech at the International Defence Conference 2025 in Abu Dhabi. He emphasised that IDEX serves as a platform for nations, industry leaders, and military professionals to engage in dialogue and showcase technology.

‘’Building on this legacy, it is crucial to recognise that security in the modern era extends far beyond traditional defence—it now encompasses the resilience of supply chains, the integrity of information, and the strategic use of space capabilities,'' said Mohamed Mubarak Fadhel Al Mazrouei in his keynote inaugural address at the International Defence Conference 2025, held in Abu Dhabi today.

Al Mazrouei noted that modern security involves more than just protection; it requires preparedness and adaptability. In today's world, disruptions can quickly affect supply chains. Nations must anticipate risks and diversify logistics networks to remain resilient. Integrating advanced technologies is essential for maintaining stability across industries.

Al Mazrouei stressed the importance of protecting information integrity against manipulation. Proactive digital defences, AI-driven threat detection, and international cooperation are vital to counter these threats effectively.

The question is not whether space will influence security, but rather how we ensure its responsible and strategic use for the benefit of humanity.''
