UAE National Team Achieves Silver At GCC Beach Games Muscat 2025 With Total Of 23 Medals
The UAE national beach football team achieved a silver medal at the 3rd GCC Beach Games in Muscat, 2025. They secured this by defeating Kuwait 5-1 on the tournament's final day, which took place from 5th to 11th April. The event saw participation from 330 athletes across Gulf Cooperation Council countries, with the UAE sending a delegation of 77 athletes.
Oman led the medal tally with 45 medals, including 20 golds. Saudi Arabia came third with 18 medals, while Bahrain was fourth with 17 medals. Qatar and Kuwait finished fifth and sixth, respectively. The UAE's sailing team was particularly successful, winning a total of 11 medals. This included gold in the Optimist team event and K4 gold by Marwa Al Hammadi.

The UAE participated in all eight sports featured at the games: football, handball, volleyball, athletics, tent pegging, sailing, swimming, and paragliding. Their athletics team earned six medals: three silvers and three bronzes. The men's and women's relay teams both won silver medals. Alia Yousif Al Hammadi also secured silver in the women's high jump.
In aerosports, Abdullah Nasser Al Hammadi excelled by winning two golds in paragliding events: target landing and cone slalom. The team also claimed a silver medal in paragliding as a group effort. Meanwhile, the tent pegging team earned bronze in the javelin event through athletes like Fahad Shanwan Al Shammari and Saif Mubarak Al Harthi.
The UAE's national beach handball team clinched bronze after four victories against Saudi Arabia and Bahrain despite losing twice to Oman. The competition used a double round-robin format where each team played others twice. In athletics, Salem Al Baloushi added to the medal count with a bronze in men's long jump at a distance of 6.55 metres.
Zayed Al Hosani won gold in the Optimist junior category for sailing. Khalifa Al Rumaithi also took gold in overall classification for this class. Othman Al Hammadi captured gold in boys' K6 race while Adel Khalid Al Bastaki secured silver in youth K7 category.
Outstanding Performances by UAE Athletes
In other sailing events, Mohammed Al Marzouqi claimed silver in K4 while Madia Al Niyadi won bronze in girls' Optimist class. Dhooha Al Beshr achieved gold in K6 category with Kamilia Khalifa taking bronze alongside her efforts.
The UAE concluded their participation with an impressive total of 23 medals: eight golds, eight silvers, and seven bronzes across various disciplines showcasing their diverse talent pool among Gulf nations during this regional sporting event.
