UAE and São Paulo State Sign MoU to Accelerate Falcon AI Integration

In a significant development at the World Governments Summit (WGS) 2024, the UAE's Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Secretariat of Management and Digital Government (SGGD) of São Paulo, Brazil. This collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aims to enhance São Paulo's technological infrastructure and government services through the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI), specifically leveraging the Falcon Large Language Models (LLMs).

The agreement outlines São Paulo's commitment to adopting Falcon-powered solutions and encourages local organizations to engage with the Falcon Foundation. This move is not only pivotal for São Paulo but also marks Falcon's capability expansion beyond the Middle East, setting a precedent for future global technological collaborations.

Faisal Al Bannai, Secretary General of ATRC, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting it as a testament to ATRC's commitment to fostering global AI partnerships. He emphasized the potential of this collaboration to serve as a model for international cooperation in AI development and application. Caio Mário Paes De Andrade, Secretary of São Paulo State, echoed this sentiment, underscoring the partnership's role in driving global innovation and technological advancement.

The Falcon LLM is a cutting-edge AI model developed by the Technology Innovation Institute (TII), ATRC’s applied research arm. In November 2023, ATRC and its commercialization arm VentureOne launched AI71, an AI company aimed at delivering specialized AI models to clients worldwide. This initiative offers clients, including countries and companies, the option for decentralized data ownership while promoting the deployment of Falcon LLMs.

This partnership between ATRC and São Paulo represents a significant step forward in the global AI landscape, promising to enhance technological infrastructure and government services in São Paulo through advanced AI integration.
