UAE-Russia Business Forum Scheduled For December 10 In Dubai To Enhance Economic Ties

The Russia–UAE Business Council has unveiled the agenda and key participants for the inaugural UAE–Russia Business Forum. This event is set to occur in Dubai on 10th December. The forum aims to enhance strategic partnerships, supported by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Roscongress Foundation, and the Marathon Investment Group.

Taking place alongside the 12th meeting of the Intergovernmental Russia–UAE Commission on Trade, Economic and Technical Cooperation, this forum highlights growing bilateral ties. Trade between Russia and the UAE has surged recently, with joint projects spanning manufacturing, logistics, agriculture, digital technologies, healthcare, and investment.

UAE-Russia Business Forum Set for December 10

Russian Industry and Trade Minister Anton Alikhanov emphasised the UAE's role as a crucial economic partner in the Middle East. He stated, "In recent years, the UAE has become one of Russia's key economic partners in the Middle East. The first UAE–Russia Business Forum is a testament to this as a priority area." Alikhanov also noted significant potential for mutual investments and joint projects across various sectors.

The forum will feature a plenary session titled "Architecture of Long-Term Growth: New Opportunities for Both Countries." Alexander Vinokurov, Chairman of the Russia–UAE Business Council, will present strategies for unlocking economic potential. Key themes include prospects for bilateral cooperation and practical mechanisms for project development.

A session titled "Strategic Co-Investment Dialogue," hosted by Investment Majlis, will focus on investment cooperation. This session aims to foster dialogue among strategic investors and specialised funds while presenting tools to support projects. It will highlight mechanisms for creating a Russia–UAE investment platform.

The event will begin with a panel discussion called "Russia–UAE Innovation Track: A New Era of Technological Partnership." Participants include Andrey Shket from Skolkovo Foundation and Dmitry Markov from VisionLabs. This segment will introduce an accelerator programme to support Russian tech companies in the UAE.

Building Long-Term Cooperation

Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of Russia, remarked on building a solid foundation for long-term cooperation with the UAE. He said, "Russia and the UAE are building a solid foundation for long-term cooperation that reflects the interests of both countries in the emerging system of international economic relations." Kobyakov highlighted improvements in trade indicators and new projects in non-resource sectors.

The business programme will conclude with a panel discussion titled "Russia and the UAE: Shaping the Ecosystem of Trade and Logistics of the Future." Speakers like Ramy Jallad from RAKEZ plan to discuss export corridors, logistics routes diversification, and sustainable multimodal solutions between both nations.

The forum will gather leading companies from both countries alongside investment funds and tech startups. Discussions will revolve around strategic partnerships across various sectors. The event aims to strengthen practical cooperation components while launching new initiatives between Russia and the UAE.
