UAE's Omar Al Marzouqi Wins Prestigious World Show Jumping Championship For Young Horses

Omar Al Marzouqi, a talented equestrian from the UAE, has achieved a significant milestone by winning the World Show Jumping Championship for Stallions. This event is part of the World Championship for 5-, 6-, and 7-year-old show jumpers held in Lanaken, Belgium. Riding Enjoy de La Mure, owned by Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the 21-year-old rider excelled in both the first and second legs on Thursday and Friday, surpassing some of the world's top show jumpers.

The championship began on 18th September and will conclude on Sunday with winners being crowned across various categories and age groups. Al Marzouqi expressed gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his support of equestrian sports in the UAE. He also thanked H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his interest in show jumping riders competing for titles.

Al Marzouqi highlighted that Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan's support was crucial in reaching this level of global competitiveness. She is the Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Sports Academy, President of Abu Dhabi Ladies Club, and President of Al Ain Ladies Club. Additionally, she is the owner and founder of Al Shira’aa Stables.

The FEI WBFSH Jumping World Breeding Championship for Young Horses 2024 features competitions among five-, six-, and seven-year-olds vying for world titles. Winning these events not only brings prestige but also offers rewards for both breeders and riders.

Al Marzouqi's victory adds to the UAE's growing reputation in endurance sports. His achievement underscores the country's commitment to nurturing talent in equestrian disciplines through robust support from its leaders.
