Ramadan 2025: UAE Announces Reduced Working Hours For Federal Employees

For the Holy Month of Ramadan, the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) has announced adjusted working hours for employees of Federal Authorities.

From Monday to Thursday, the workday will start at 9:00 am and end at 2:30 pm, while Fridays will see a shorter schedule from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Furthermore, FAHR has given ministries and federal entities the flexibility to adopt remote work or flexible schedules that cater to their operational needs, provided they remain within the designated daily working hours.

Additionally, FAHR has authorized that up to 70% of the workforce in federal government departments may opt to work from home on Fridays throughout Ramadan. This policy supports the balance between professional responsibilities and the spiritual and familial commitments of the employees during this sacred month.
